Operator Course Details and Costs

  1. Unidirectional Main Flushing & Hydrant Flow Testing (0.6 CEU’s)

Thursday April 6, 2017

This one-day course teaches operators to set up and evaluate flushing and testing programs using guidelines from the American Water Works Association and Canada’s Fire Underwriter’s Survey. The instructor, Scott Jameson AScT, is also water and wastewater operator, bringing hands-on expertise and industry knowledge to the classroom.

Course topics:

  • Understanding unidirectional flushing and disinfection
  • Establishing and evaluating flushing and testing programs
  • Calculating minimum flush times
  • Collecting field data
  • Testing fire flows
  • Adopting safe work practices
  1. Ground Water and Pump Systems (0.6 CEU’s)

 Friday April 7, 2017

This course will be instructed by Dave Mellis, Pump Systems Incorporated, and will cover the following:

  1. Groundwater and wells
  2. Well components
  3. Pump types
  4. Pump components
  5. Pump sizing
  6. NPSH/cavitation
  7. Affinity laws
  8. VFD’s
  9. Troubleshooting/safety

The day includes a demo on cavitation, electrical testing with a multimeter and megohmeter.

Early Bird Cost for each Operator course is $250 for members/$275 non members if registered prior to February 28th, 2017.

After February 28th cost is $275 members/$300 non members. Cost includes lunch, coffee breaks, and CEU form submission to EOCP. To register manually please print out the Operators Registration Form 2017 and mail it to the address on the form along with a check.
